![]() I also read that HoverBOSS' can handle more power than open configs (folks seem to run like 50% more power for their Hover JBL's). ![]() I read where Tim calculated that the drivers I'm using only need 45 watts in open config. Is my math in the range you guys are getting?Ģ. Would the standard formula still apply? The distance to the farthest woofer (128 inches) minus the distance to the closer woofer (zero for a BOSS under the MLP) divided by the speed of sound (13,512 in/s) times 1000, or 9.5 ms in my case? I tried the audio file linked in the instructions but everything's just too close (milliseconds!). Thanks for the tip ! I hope you guys don't mind a few set-up/dialing-in questions?ġ. I’ll be fine tuning them this week and apologize in advance for my stupid questions to come. What a great addition to the home theater, what didn’t you guys tell me about this sooner? Lol You get the “buzz” from music and steady tones, the undulation in scenes with rhythmic content, the jolt with explosions and crashes, and everything in between, all with very different feels to them. BOSS is in an entirely different league! The tactile experience is not only exponentially more present, it is also much more complex and varied. To avoid “clunking” I had to run them so low that I’d barely feel a buzz. I had been using buttkickers and hated them. I tested them last night watching Aquaman with BEQ and they far exceeded my expectations! In fact, I had to dial them way back because running them at their potential was just too wild a ride (that’s a good thing, I have tactile headroom!). I used Rockford Fosgate shallow drivers, with tubes and acrylic discs (HoverBOSS disc?) and powered them with one channel from an NX3000d. ![]() I installed some mini risers under the middle two seats in the front row of my theater.
